The company in my area is consist of "journey men" about 30 and only one-1 master plumber. The company sends unqualified individuals to repair plumbing issues. Importantly, this costed me dearly, the job was misdiagnosed, and my property was severely damaged. Be very careful hiring this company, they after market coverage and quick cash. Their quality standard is none! They took no responsibility to restore my property to it's original condition.

On 7/4/2020 Bauer Plumbing aka Syracuse Roto-Rooter was called to my residence to clear a leaky/backed up toilet and help make the residence habitable. The problem ended up being more complicated than the technician expected and was not resolved. The technician stayed for about four hours, attempting to resolve the problem, growing more and more frustrated. He ended up bringing in very heavy equipment (he needed my help moving it up and down the stairs). He damaged the plaster on my walls before ever asking for my help. After he left, I discovered that the technician had left several pairs of soiled, used latex gloves lying about in my home---gloves that had been worn while treating my leaky/backed up toilet. Additionally, the technician neglected to reinstall the bolts to my toilet, leaving it completely unsecured to the bathroom floor. The water main for the toilet was also not turned back on. There was a significant amount of mess left behind on my floors and walls. I reached out to Bauer Plumbing, I mean Roto-Rooter franchise owner, Mark Armstrong, who is unwilling to offer even a partial refund on the $1603.80 that was paid in cash, up front. Mr. Armstrong stated that the $1603.80 paid does not guarantee that the job would be completed. Where is it okay to not complete an expensive plumbing job, damage property, leave behind literal waste materials AND get to keep the entire amount paid up front? Bauer Plumbing aka Syracuse Roto-Rooter!
I'm not disputing that services were attempted, after all the technician was at my residence for 4 hours. I take issue with the entirety of the price that was paid in advance for a job that 1) did not get completed 2) the damages to my property and 3) the dangerous/hazardous conditions the technician left behind (those different pairs of soiled gloves, the lack of proper re-installation of the toilet, etc. I was seeking a partial refund of $400 of the $1603.80 that was paid, upfront (in good faith) but Mark Armstrong is not open to any type of meaningful conversation.

Beware of Roto-Rooter in Upper Darby, PA

In 2018 I contracted with Roto-Rooter to dig up my lateral sewer line in Upper Darby PA. I asked if they had obtained a permit, to which they assured me they did. In early 2021 I decided to sell that property to fnd out on a video of the lateral sewer line it was under water. We had to dig the lateral sewer line to find no stones around it as required by the township. They never had to township sign the 2 or 3 steps. They didn't even connect the pipes they replaced securely. So water was draining back into my lateral line from the main sewer line because all their work had collapsed resulting in the wrong pitch. I lost the sale on the property, plus all the additional expenses. Their was to be a 5 year warranty, but RR said their work was fine and the collapse was in another area. That was bogus! So their warranties are worth nothing, as is their workmanship!

PLEASE BE AWARE!

PLEASE BE AWARE!! DO NOT USE ROTO ROOTER!! THEY ARE SCAMMING HOMEOWNERS!!
My son and his fiancé just purchased their first home on Thursday, they noticed the utility sink in the basement was backing up which seemed to look like brown paper towels or cardboard when they would flush the toilets on Saturday, we called Roto Rooter to come out because we assumed the lines were clogged from the material. Roto Rooter advised it would cost $689.00 to snake the line, if they could not get the line unclogged it would be a charge of $200.00. This includes a camera to look at the pipe to make sure nothing else was damaged. The gentleman gave me a discount and charged $500.00 to snake the line, He was able to unclog the pipe. HERE IS WHERE THE SCAM BEGINS!! The Camera Man “Doug” arrives to use the camera. Immediately on arrival he says to my son, OH you just bought this house. He forces the camera down the pipe from the inside of the basement. He tells my son he has major problems, there are rocks coming inside your house through the pipes. I have a recording of the camera and we did not see any rocks whatsoever. He told us the pipes needed to be excavated and replaced. He told my son there was no clean out outside his home so that would need to be installed as well. He quoted my son $8,000.00 to dig up the yard, replace the pipe and install a clean out!!! Dough told my son he could not stay at his home; he could not run any water at all, or it would cause major issues. My son and his fiancé had not even slept one night in the house yet, they had just purchased their home. I told my son to take the estimate and tell them have a nice day!! We received a second opinion and ROTO ROOTER was totally lying!! There was a clean out right on the outside wall of the home, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the pipe besides it was slightly off which most likely has been that way for 60 years!! The second opinion we received placed a camera down the pipe, the camera went in the pipe very easily. “Doug” had to force the camera down the pipe and manipulated the camera to remove the ball so it would show there was damage when there was no damage. A day my son and his fiancé should have been happy about purchasing their first home turned into the worse day thinking they just bought a house they could not even use at all because this company wanted to try to get money out of a young couple that just purchased a new home. PLEASE DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY THIS COMPANY. There have been several lawsuits against this company for the same exact thing over the years in different states as well.

Very upset with this company

Very upset with this company. The situation was so wrong and complex that don't know where to start from. A few lowlights: sent service to our home without our confirmation, charged significantly more than what quoted the day before, super rude customer service. We were expecting another company to come at the same time and they benefited from the confusion. Super rude customer service that decides to cynically judge how do we live in our household and make offensive accusations instead of focusing on our issue and trying to help. Lack of follow through. Avoid this company as much as you can!

One repair becomes four and I'm expected to pay?

They came out to fix a pinhole leak. They fixed it. They also created two more leaks which they fixed at my expense. The plumber left and I checked my hot water and had none. Apparently, the hot water pump was damaged during the repairs. I called and spoke to a manager named, Chris and I explained it was working fine before their work and he said it was an old pump and my responsibility. He offered me a 15% discount on replacing the pump they broke. I said I would be going with someone else. So if you're looking for a plumber to come in and destroy your house and ask you to pay for it, these are your people!

Honest and knowledgeable plumber

Called a plumber from RotoRooter and the most honest repair person I’ve ever encountered fixed my toilet and pipe connections in my Crawlspace for a quarter of what I expected to pay. Poor guy had to drive 40 miles for a part as well. I tried to leave him a review on their site but it’s not working but if they look here the plumber was Billy#926 I would definitely call them again.

Magnificent Service A+

Magnificent Plumbing & Customer Service! Extremely refreshing...Daniel addressed an issue we were having with our plumbing. He provided options of service I could choose from. His communication skills were impeccable. Extremely patient with me. Answered all my 100 questions. There are good people and good companies still in this world. Wilsonville Roto Rooter/Daniel is "good people" I have no reason to ever choose another plumbing company. Wilsonville Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service is 1st and only in our book!

Can I leave zero stars

Can I leave zero stars? The guy came out to clear tree roots from the line. He and his co-worker wore NO mask and they managed to flood my kitchen. No discount for the mess that I had to clean up and no apology. Will never use again!

SNAKES

I called roto-rooter to repair a clogged sink. Bart came out and was unable to repair the clog, but did manage to break my garbage disposal trying. I went and purchased a new garbage disposal and Bart returned 2 days later to continue working on the clog and to install the new garbage disposal, but still couldn't repair the clog. He called his manager, Ben, for assistance. Ben arrived, looked around, then told me that I needed to have my basement excavated because the clog was underground. He told me the repair would cost $7,768!!! Of course, I don't have the type of money, so I called another plumber out to get a second opinion. He arrived, tools in hand, snaked the drain for 15 minutes and cleared the clog for a whopping $95!!!!!!!!!! I will NEVER use the services of ROTO-ROOTER again!
Wait...I failed to mention that Bart charged me $73 after his first vist because he poured pipe shield down the clogged drain. OUTRAGEOUS!

Did not fix our clogged drain

Did not fix our clogged drain! We spent $390 for a 15 minute service call for a backed up kitchen sink / clogged drain. They snaked the drain but it didn't work, The only solution offered was to go further with snake but there was 50/50 chance it would break the trap. They recommended using chemicals to unclog, We gave the chemicals a shot to no avail. We ended up calling a local plumber in our town who tried to unclog, another $450 out of pocket without a fix. The local plumber recommended that we call a larger company like Roto Rooter or Mr Rooter because they have special equipment that goes further in drain and sprays water. Since Roto Rooter didn't help the first time around, we opted to call Mr Rooter and problem fixed! Shame in Roto Rooter, I think they guys that were dispatched to our house didn't want to be bothered with our drain issue. Terrible service and we will never call Roto Rooter again.
